Established in 1872, The University of Toledo (UT) enrolles over 19,000 students. UT colleges offer a variety of certificate, associate, bachelor’s master’s and doctoral degree programs many that can be completed online. UT is an urban research university and holds a "Doctoral/Research Extensive classification from the Carnegie Foundation . It is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is authorized to offer degrees online. The University is recognized as a leader in distance education amongst Ohio’s public colleges and universities offering over 850 courses online. UT has also earned the designation as meeting Best Practices in Student Services by the Ohio Learning Network. Assisting students in their online academic endeavors is a priority for Distance Learning at the University .

The University has a Military Service Center to assist students on active duty or veterans with military benefits. UT accepts Military Credit and credit from accredited colleges and universities across the U.S. and internationally.

Tuition is free for eligible Ohio residents on active duty enrolled only in distance learning courses. Other fees are the responsibility of the student.
