Additional Information:Amridge University was one of the first of 15 colleges and universities that was chosen in 1999 by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in a pilot demonstration program in distance learning. This demonstration program served as a basis for the recent passage in 2006 of a new law on distance education by the United States Congress.
Amridge uses an interactive web instruction program, Elluminate, which makes possible for the instruction and students seeing, hearing, and collaborating with all class participants in a live web online course via Blackboard. These students and teachers may be located in any of the 50 United States or in any foreign country that has broad band Internet service. Class sessions are recorded and are made available online for a student's review.
Amridge University is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033; 404-679-4500; http://www.sacscoc.org/) to award Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
